Somalia’s Sporting talent gaining acknowledgement it deserves as young runner wins 5,000m race

Abdisalam Ali champions in the 5000m U20s in Switzerland

August 23, 2020 – BTV Sports – Somalia’s sporting talent is being acknowledged around the world as young Abdisalam Ali today won the 5000m in the U20 U-20 in Switzerland.

In the race in Frauenfeld, Switzerland, Abdi Salaan ran 14:36.17, the best U20 record in Switzerland.

Abdisalam finished second in the 10,000 meters (U20) held in Zurich last year.

Abdisalam, who arrived in Switzerland in 2016, is competing for Somalia and is the first person from the Somali community to win the 5000m and 10000m races in Switzerland.

Abdisalam Ali is one of many young bright Somalis around the world who are showcasing their sporting talent.

Ramla Ali is a young upcoming boxer based in the UK. She choose to fight in the blue and white colours of Somalia.

He joins Ramla Ali and Muhidin Abubakar who are also young emerging sporting talents contesting in the blue and white flag of Somalia.

Muhudin Abubakar (R) with the Somali flag and belt, is 11-2-0 and ranked 1st Amateur Mens Flyweight in UK & Ireland.

Ramla Ali is a Somali boxer & model based in London. She is the current African Zone Featherweight Champion as of 2019 and the first male or female boxer in history to have won an African Boxing Title and international gold medals whilst representing her country of Somalia.

Muhidin Abubakar (11-2-0) is a Amateur MMA Fighter out of London, England and the 1st ranked Amateur Mens Flyweight in United Kingdom & Ireland.
