Banadir Regional Court announces verdict in Ministry of Health corruption case

Mogadishu (BTV) – The Benadir Regional Court has today announced the verdict in the case of nine members of the Somali Ministry of Health who are accused of corruption. Read the court ruling below.

Today, 24/08/2020, the Court is announcing the verdict in the criminal case number MGB / DDL / 148/2020 against 9 people from the Ministry of Health JFS, whose case was heard in 14 hearings. ,

COURT JUDGEMENT

  1. DEFENDANT 1: Abdullahi Hashi Ali (Mother’s name Khadijo Haji Mohamed Hersi) 61 years old Born in Hiran, Hamar Weyne District, and Director General of the Ministry of Health of the Federal Government of Somalia Accused of Articles 241, 363, 366, 375, 376- / 71 XCS,
    The COURT found him guilty of Articles 241 (THEFT OF PUBLIC PROPERTY) and 363 XCS, and sentenced him to 9 years in prison and a fine of SH.SO 59,173,000 (FIFTY-NINE MILLION, ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-THREE, Equivalent to $ 2,366 dollars. The ruling is accompanied by the Exemption from Public Office as per Article.101 / 102 XCS.
  1. DEFENDANT 2: Mohamud Bule Mohamud (Mother’s name; Binti Sheikh Nur Mohamed), 52 years old, born in Mogadish and Director of the Administration and Finance Department of the Ministry of Health, FGS, ARTICLE 241, 363 366, 375, 376- / 71 XCS,
    The Court found, under Articles 241 (THEFT OF PUBLIC PROPERTY) and Articles 363,366, 375, and sentenced him to 18 years in prison and a fine of Shs. Somali shillings (equivalent to $ 2,366). The ruling is accompanied by the Exception of Public Office in accordance with Articles 101/102 XCS.

3. DEFENDANT 3: Mahdi Abshir Mohamed (Mother’s name Hawa Mohamed Nur), 30 years old, born in Hamar, lives in Waberi and Accountant of the Health Promotion C4D of the Ministry of Health, Accused of ARTICLES 241, 363, 366, 375, 376- / 71 XCS,

The COURT found him guilty under Article 241 (STEALING OF PUBLIC PROPERTY), and ARTICLES 363, 375 and sentenced him to 12 years in prison and a fine of 59,173,000 SH.SO (fifty-nine million, seven hundred and seventy-three thousand, thirty-three). Som) Equivalent to $ 2,366 dollars. The ruling is accompanied by the Exception of a Public Office in accordance with Articles 101/102 of the XCS.

4: Bashir Abdi Nur Son of Halima Qasim Abdi, 34 years old, born in Mogadishu, a resident of Hodan and Accountant of Malaria and HIV / AIDS Project of the Ministry of Health, Accused of ARTICLES 241, 363, 366, 375, 376- / 71 XCS,

THE COURT found him guilty under Article 241 (THEFT OF PUBLIC PROPERTY), and sentenced him to 3 years in prison and a fine of 29,575,000 (TWENTY-MILLION, FIVE HUNDRED AND FIVE HUNDRED AND FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS. The sentence is accompanied by the Exclusion of a Public Office for a period of 5 years in accordance with Article 102-Paragraph 1 of the Penal Code.

DEFENDANT 5: Nacima C. Qadir Mohamed, daughter of Halimo Abdi Sheikh, 34 years old, resident of Mogadishu and Director of the Reproductive Health Project of the Ministry of Health of the Federal Government of Somalia Accused of Articles 241, 363, 366, 375, 376- / 71 XCS,

THE COURT dropped all the Charges, and restored Nacima C Qadir Mohamed’s liberty.

  1. CHARGE 6: Ahmed Adan Mohamed, son of Fadumo Mohamed, 34 years old, born in Gedo, lives in Hodan, Director of the Public Health Department of the Ministry of Health.
    THE COURT lost all of the Charges, and restored its liberty.
  1. DEFENDANT 7: Abdikadir Weheliye Afra, son of Jimco Gaafow Kulmiye, Director of the Logistics and Health Services Department of the Ministry of Health, Accused of ARTICLES 241, 363, 366, 375, 376- / 71 XCS. THE COURT lost all of the Charges, and restored its liberty.

CHARGE 8: Farah Yusuf Mohamed Son of Lul Geele Mohamud, 34 years old, born in Beledweyne, Mogadishu, Mogadishu. XCS, THE COURT lost all of the Charges, and restored its liberty.

DEFENDANT 9: Sumaya Ahmed Osman, Daughter of Dunyo Abdulle Ali, 27 years old born in Hamar Degan H / wadag and TB Accountant of the Ministry of Health FGS, FGS Accused ARTICLES 241, 363, 366, 375, 376- / 71 XCS. THE COURT lost all of the Charges, and restored her liberty.

NB: THE COURT HAS REMOVED THE JUDGMENTS OF THE YEARS.
