Thursday, September 3, 2020 – Senator Abdi Hassan Awale Qeybdid, has called on President Deni and President Ahmed Madobe to persuade President of Somalia to appoint a prime minister before holding any talks.
Abdi Qaybdiid told them that they had insisted on their decision to appoint a prime minister who would implement the agreements, saying that if that did not happen, it would appear that they had come to President Farmaajo’s agreement and were not pursuing a solution in the interest of the Somali people.
“Once there is no government, what is being done at the moment will only be done by individuals. So I ask them, do you have any plans during your stay in Mogadishu to persuade the president to appoint a prime minister?” said Senator Qeybdiid reffering to Puntland & Jubbaland State presidents.
Senator Abdi Awale Qaybdiid said President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has no intention of appointing a prime minister as of lately.
Responding to the senator’s remarks, the Puntland president said his arrival in Mogadishu was not planned for the prime minister, explaining that Puntland was the only state that bad been complaining about regarding the absence of a prime minister.
The remarks came as President Deni addressed lawmakers in the upper house today.
