MOGADISHU – A very loud bomb blast had taken place a few minutes ago in the Somali capital Mogadishu.
The blast took place at a restaurant at the Blue Sky checkpoint guarding the Somali presidential palace.
The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a police station in the capital, Mogadishu.

The blast is thought to have been carried out by a suicide bomber as the blast was heard in most parts of Mogadishu.
Preliminary reports indicate that the blast resulted in casualties, including the death of two people, including a child.

Government forces have closed the area where the explosion occurred, although no one has yet claimed responsibility for bombings as these tactics are the attributes of the terrorist group Al Shabab.
It is the sixth time an explosion has hit the Blue Sky Restaurant near the National Theatre.
